Another outstanding Rendezvous in St
Michaels, MD at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum!
We started on Friday with most attendees arriving by late
afternoon, then had our pot-luck party with appetizers,
deserts, wine and beer. Pletny of time to catch up with
friends
Saturday
morning was "on-your-own" time to visit St Michaels and
tour the museum. Later, we gathered on the upper deck for a
discussion about cruising on the Bavaria, lead by our
guests Cal Calabrese and Linda Stevenson. They talked about
their experiences on their Bavaria 39 from Annapolis to the
Caribbean and back last year, and their plans to continue
to Maine, and then the Virgin Islands. They made many
modifications to their boat to set it up just the way they
wanted it - look for an article on this site soon.
Bruce Mundle (Bavaria Yachts USA) then led a discussion
about the new boats and the direction of the company for
the future, and we finished the afternoon with a
round-table about boat maintenance and upgrades - each of
us telling our own stories.
Door prizes included Raymarine Charting software, Bavaria
Yachts flags, discount coupons for new folding / feathering
props from ABMarine, and sailing bags loaded with goodies
from SAIL magazine
Saturday evening was dinner at the Crab Claw restaurant,
and following that, we gathered to finish off any wine and
beer remaining from the Friday evening party with a fresh
assortment of finger food - all courtesy of the individual
owners. Of course, we all crawled all over the new Bavaria
42-Cruiser "Inclusion Winds"
Sunday morning was the brunch hosted by Bavaria Yachts, and
pictures for SpinSheet magazine - with all of us in our new
event t-shirts.
