The first east coast meeting was held at the US Sailboat Show in Annapolis, MD USA on Saturday, October 8. The weather did not cooperate – winds were near gale strength and it rained hard all day. 4 new Bavaria sailboats also joined the festivities; the 2005 33, 39, and 42, and a 2004 Match-38 were all there, and created quite a bit of interest.
The group (held small by the awful weather) gathered on the Bavaria pier and enjoyed drinks and lunch at the beautiful Annapolis Yacht Club. Afterward we all returned to the Bavaria pier for pix & goodies before saying goodbye. Mike Miles got the award for farthest distance travelled to get to the meeting (from Ontario!!)
One official item of business – it was agreed that the East Coast USA fleet will conduct its first rendezvous in 2006 (hopefully early in the sailing year). The West Coast USA fleet has been doing so for several years.
